Home > How to play Roulette Roulette Next to Blackjack, Roulette is one of the most popular games played in modern Casinos. It is also amongst one of the oldest Casino games. Roulette is somewhat unique amongst modern table games in that it employs a mechanical device as the key element of the game. This is the large and very distinct Roulette wheel, which is mounted horizontally on one end of the table. The hollow of the wheel has numbered pockets ranging from zero to thirty-six (and a '00' in American Style Roulette). Wagers in Roulette are placed on an area of the table marked with a pattern of boxes and numbers. This is called the game layout. You may place wagers on any particular number, any 4 adjacent numbers, a column or a 'dozens' bet. The wheel is used to determine the outcome of a game of Roulette. Once the bets have been placed the wheel is set spinning and a small (usually metal or ivory) ball is spun onto the wheel in the opposite direction to that of the spinning wheel. The ball will rapidly loose speed and eventually stop in one of the pockets. The number of the pocket is the winning number. The Spin button will start a game of roulette by setting the wheel in motion and ejecting the ball onto the wheel. The Spin button will only be available if you have at least one credit on the table. The table felt is divided up according to the pattern of a traditional roulette table. It is strongly suggested that you read up about the kinds of bets available in the Types of Bets section. To place a wager on any of these bet types simply left click on the table to increase the size of your bet, and right click to decrease. The Chip Size menu allows you to adjust the size of the increments of your wager. If you are using a Chip size of 1 then each mouse click will only add or remove 1 from the current pile of chips on the table. Under the Options menu you can find the 'Quick Spin' feature. If activated this feature will stop all game related animations as soon as a reply is received from the Casino's server. This means that you will not have to wait for the Roulette wheel animation to slow down before seeing the game result and being able to play again. This feature can be toggled on or off. The Undo, Redo, Clear and Repeat buttons are provided to allow you to rapidly change the bets on the table. The Undo button removes all changes made to the table since the last bet. The Redo button reverses the effect of the Undo. The Clear button removes all chips. The Repeat button will return the table to the same state it was in before the previous spin of the wheel. It will replace any wagers that were removed from the table. There are two basic steps to follow to play a game of Roulette. First you must decide on which numbers or groups of numbers to bet on. You can do this by moving the mouse over the table felt and left clicking to deposit chips on the table. Right clicking will remove chips. You can place chips on individual numbers or on the borders shared by two or four numbers. Once you have decided upon your bet click the Spin button to start the game. The roulette wheel will spin and the ball will be placed on the wheel. It will soon come to rest in one of the numbered pockets on the wheel. If the number falls within the range of any one of your bets then you have won. Refer to the Table Limits and Odds section to find out more about how much each kind of bet is worth. Table limits are set by the Casino's server and can be changed from time to time. Please refer to the Casino's web page for further details or contact us via e-mail.
