The various Roulette bets and their payouts may be a little confusing to the beginner… Basically, the various bets cover from just one number to half the numbers on the Roulette wheel, meaning that the odds of you winning are very different. Correspondingly, the payout for the various bets are bigger for one-number bets, ranging down to even payouts for the broadest bets.

Bets that cover half the table are the Even-Odd, Red-Black and High-Low bets. These bets carry the lowest risk and they all pay out 1:1.

The next type of bet covers 12 numbers at once. Column Bets cover one of the three columns of numbers on the Roulette table (12 numbers), and Dozen Bets cover the numbers 1 to 12, 13 to 24, or 25 to 36. These bets pay out at 2:1.

A Six-Number bet covers six numbers, paying 5:1. A Five Number bet covers 00 to 3, and pays 6:1. A Corner bet covers four adjacent numbers, paying out 8:1. A trio bet covers only three, upping the payout to 11:1. A Split Bet is placed to cover two numbers, and pays 17:1. The highest Roulette payout is a straight bet on just one number, paying out 35:1.
